NETWORK FAQ 6: Accessing network drives using WebDAV

QUESTIONS:
How do I connect to the H: drive (home folder) using WebDAV?
ANSWER:
To connect to a network drive using WebDAV, use one of the following procedures.
Microsoft Windows Users Macintosh Users
Microsoft Windows Users
- Open Microsoft Internet Explorer.
- Select Open from the File menu.
- In the Open window type
https://users.mercyhurst.edu/username/ if you are a student or https://summit.mercyhurst.edu/username/ if you are an employee.
Check the box labeled Open as Web Folder and click OK.
Note: USERNAME is your Mercyhurst username.
- In the authentication window, type your Mercyhurst username in the User name field and your Mercyhurst password in the Password field and then click OK.
Note:The authentication may in some cases appear behind an Explorer window. If that occurs, simply drag the window towards the bottom of the screen until the authentication window appears.
Your network folder files will now be available in the folder view of Microsoft Internet Explorer. In the Internet Explorer folder view you can add, copy, move, and delete files
in your network directory. You can drag and drop files and folders between your network directory and your computer. To modify files, they must be copied locally to your computer.
After being modified, they can be copied back.
Macintosh Users
- In the Finder, choose Connect to Server... from the Go menu.
- In the Server Address field type

or https://summit.mercyhurst.edu/username/ if you are an employee
Note: username is your Mercyhurst username.
- Click the plus sign (+) button next to the Server Address field to add the server address to your favorite servers.
- Click Connect.
- Click Continue on the Verify Certificate window.
Your network folder files will now be available in the Finder. You can modify, add, move, and delete files as if they were on your computer. You
will also notice the network drive mounted on your desktop.
