NETWORK FAQ 8: Issues when trying to WebDAV

QUESTIONS:

Why do I keep getting the prompt for username and password when trying to access my H: drive (home folder) using WebDAV?

ANSWER:

  1. You have an invalid WebDAV connection setup in My Network Places.
    • Remove the invalid connection.
      1. Open My Computer.
      2. If you don't see My Network Places in the left menu of the My Computer window, click Folders from the Standard Buttons toolbar.
      3. Select My Network Places from the left menu of My Computer.
      4. Select the connection that contains users.mercyhurst.edu.
      5. Click Cancel or No on any dialog that appears.
      6. Select Delete from the File menu.
      7. Click OK.
    • You can now successfully connect to your H: drive using WebDAV.
  2. You are entering and invalid username and/or password. The username and password is your network/email username and password. If you don't know your username or password, contact the Help Desk.
